So, I was thinking it's about time I started doing outfit posts... Since, I kinda sorta love clothes, and make my own, and have a thrifting addiction, and change clothes like three times a day.
I'm wearing this to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter 7 Part 2 tonight with Deanna! Can't wait, it's gonna be amazing.

And here's a couple of nice, blurry photos taken by my sweet little brother outside...
This summer has been lovely so far. Actually, the last three months when I've been M.I.A. have been amazing. I had a wonderful time rehearsing and performing a production of Cinderella, in which I not only was given the chance to perform as Cinderella but also worked on the costume comittee and got to make my own costumes! (A post on that process later...)
After that, I got to be involved in a 3 week drama camp where, with the help and guidance of our brilliant director, I and my fellow campers wrote and produced our OWN show. A life-changing experience.
Now I have the next two weeks to veg out and create/chill with friends/catch up on things that got pushed aside during the past three crazy months, and then on the 23rd of July, guess what?! I leave for a 2 and 1/2 week long trip to Finland! Which brings me to my 10 things. Here we go.
1. Finland Trip. YES.
2. Re-igniting my joy for blogging.
3. Reading amazing fantastic lovely books like The Help, by Kathryn Stockett.
(Plus, There's a movie coming out! Yay!)
4. This.
5. Sewing myself a formal dress, just for the fun of it.
6. Reading my Bible, getting to know my Father in heaven better.
7. Starting a Dream Journal.
8. Not drinking ANY soda! (Deanna, my BFF, is doing it with me. Wish us luck, we're 9 days into the month and so far we're both clean!)
9. Messing around with my lovely new Canon Rebel T1i.
10. Waiting/looking to see what new shows are being put on this next year by different drama groups here in the valley! (So far I'm looking at Les Mis, Alladdin, and The Pajama Game... )
Well, I'm back now, armed with a beautiful new Canon Rebel T1i and a plan to not fail my fellow bloggers again. No matter how few they are, or how they've given up on me.
No but really, I am back and plan to post consistently again! I will be back tomorrow, with a Ten Things I'm Excited About This Month post.
For now, a few test pictures with my lovely new camera...
Tuesday's project was to makeover my mirror/getting-ready-in-the-morning area, and also spruce up my bookshelves which were very bare. I already had a few pieces and ideas I wanted to try, but I went on a thrifting run and found the perfect pretty things to finish these spaces!
Here's how my mirror area looked before:
And here's my makeup and jewelry... On the floor...
Ta da! I finally switched out my awful wavy mirrors for a sweet little vintage one that I already had at my house. I put all my makeup in a little cabinet my grandma picked up for me at a thrift store, and then my styling tools I put inside a vintage bread box I found while thrifting. I collaged on some coat hangers and put them on the wall for my go-to purses and placed my jewelry-tree on top of the bread box.
The best part is... Organized. Ahhhhh.
My bookshelves aren't quite as dramatic a change, but I took apart a bedside lamp that I use every night and placed it inside a vintage birdcage I found while (big surprise) thrifting. I found some pretty frames to put on the wall and utilized the space on top of my bookshelves to store my typewriter...
I found this pretty book and cedar box while out thrifting with Deanna. The book is breathtaking, it's an autograph book from the 1930's and it is full of writing to someone named Mimi or Marie. I think she was called both, because everyone who wrote to her called her one or the other. It's so magical to read sweet little notes from so long ago! It makes me want to know who Marie was and what her story is. I wonder if she's still alive...
Be back in awhile with another project. :)
Here comes the weekend!

P.S. Cast list is up, and happy news: I got Cinderella! So blessed and excited to be part of this show. I literally can't wait for rehearsal this weekend...
Sorry it's been so long. I keep meaning to post and then get distracted or very busy and before I know it another day has gone by! Time goes by so fast, don't you think?
Yesterday I got inspired and started 3 different projects, but instead of barraging you all at once with them I decided to do separate posts.
My first project was collaging on the cover of an empty sketchbook I had. I like to jot down ideas for clothing and any other creative things I want to try, and sketchbooks are great because all your ideas are in one place. Plus it's super satisfying to fill one up. :) My latest one just ran out of blank pages, so I pulled down a new one and decided to collage on the cover.
My journal originally had a pretty painting of a wave on it, but I wanted to collage on it more then I wanted the painting so it said goodbye.
I mixed up a batch of Elmer's Glue + warm water to glue my collage together and coat it afterword. Elmer's Glue and warm water works almost as well as Modge Podge in a pinch, and it's a lot cheaper too.
I pulled out pieces of magazines and laid them out how I wanted them to look...
Then glued them and coated them with my mixture. This is the front cover, and below is the back cover.
So yesterday I went with Deanna and a bunch of my family to the Renaissance Festival. (Tricky word to spell! I had to look it up...) So many great performers are there and such beautiful things to buy!
We had lots of fun and I ate waaaay too much.
We found this amazing clock in one of the booths and my sweet grandmother snatched it up for me! I love it so much :)
It's an old fashioned wind-up clock and I can't remember how to work them... I'll have to play around with it to figure it out.
My (and Deanna's!) auditions on Friday night went amazingly well and we got callbacks the next day for two characters. The cast list is supposed to be posted sometime today and I'm having a seizure trying to wait for it...
Hopefully I'll be back soon with cast-list news and a pretty new project!
I feel slightly guilty from the fact that it's been a week and a half since I last posted... Oops. I've had good reason though! Here's what's happening:
I decided spur of the moment that I am auditioning for the show Cinderella with a drama group that I was involved with in the past. Originally I wasn't going to do this show because I was waiting for another one which has auditions a month from now, but I changed my mind after finding out that a new director will be directing this show.
Hence, the not posting.
So here's what I've spent my weekend/past week doing:
1. Bowling with my family + Deanna.
2. Dying crop T's with strawberries. (with Deanna.)
This did not work. I mean, it worked, but when I washed my shirt it immediately washed all the color out. SO dissapointing, since we followed instructions from a tutorial and the color was so pretty...
3. Freaking out about auditions and trying to pick a song.
I was jumping back and fourth between How Could I Ever Know from Secret Garden and I Got Lost In His Arms from Annie Get Your Gun... I eventually picked the second one, and now I just have to go over and over it until the audition. (Which is tomorrow!)
Asking God to give me courage and calm at the audition tomorrow and later (hopefully) at callbacks.
